Pizza herb bread
I am not a big fan of pizza and if we eat one I prefer to prepare it with a lot of vegetables.
But with pizza dough you can also make a tasty herb roll. Combine with a delicious soup, just rip off some pieces of bread (instead of cutting slices). Here at home the last crumb disappears ...
With the filling you can vary endlessly fe. with dried tomatoes or cheese.

Servings: 1 bread
- 1 pizza dough rectangular form
- 40 gr basil leaves fresh leaves
- 20 gr thyme fresh
- 20 gr chives fresh
- 20 gr pine nuts
- 20 gr grated parmesan
- 1 clove garlic
- 4 tblspoon olive oil
- 6 nuts up to your choise
- 1 egg only the egg yolk
- pepper and salt
Put the basil, thyme, garlic, oil, pine nuts and cheese in the cutter and mix to a homogeneous mass. Note, not too long because the heat of the cutting blades can cause a bitter taste.
Cut the chives into fine rings.
Open the pizza dough and spread with the herb pesto. Sprinkle the sliced chives on top.
Roll up the dough (along the long side) into a roll.
Carefully cut the roll in the middle.
Braid the two halves together and place the dough in a baking dish.
Brush with a bit of egg yolk and place the nuts on top.
Bake 35-40 minutes at 180º in a preheated oven.
This bread does not immediately belong to the most healthy or nutrient-rich variety. But every now and then you can also eat what you call "comfort food". A pizza base is rich in carbohydrates, fats and often sugars. The herbs will provide the healthy touch, even if it is a small one ;-)
