Macaroni with tuna and Mozzarella
This simple and flavorful tuna and mozzarella macaroni recipe is perfect if you’re looking for a quick, yet delicious meal. The combination of savory tuna, melted mozzarella and the aroma of fresh basil makes this dish a favorite for adults and children alike.My family loves this dish and it is one of their favorite pasta dishes. I make it a bit spicy with a pinch of spicy paprika powder.

Ingredients
- 350 gr macaroni
- 300 gr tuna in oil jarred, neto weight
- 300 gr cherry tomatoes bunch
- 500 gr passata
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 250 gr mozzarella mini mini balls
- 2 tbl spoon tomato paste
- ½ cube vegetable broth
- 1 tbl spoon pine nuts
- 15 gr fresh basil
- salt and pepper
- 80 gr grated cheese
- 2 tbl spoon olive oil
Instructions
- Bring water to the boil with a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp olive oil. cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. When it is al dente, place it in a sieve.
- Preheat the oven to 180º
- Shred the onion and the garlic cloves. Put 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan and simmer for 3 minutes. Rinse the cherry tomatoes. Keep six of them aside and add the others to the onion. Stew this together for about 8 minutes. Add the passata together with the ½ stock cube and 2 tbsp tomato puree. Stir well and season with salt and pepper. Shred the basil and add it to the sauce.
- Drain the tuna in a colander and add it to the sauce, mixing well. Also mix in half of the Mozzarella balls. After a minute, add the cooked macaroni and mix into the sauce.
- Place the macaroni in an oven dish. Add the remaining Mozzarella ball and tomatoes, divide the pine nuts over it and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
- Place this in the oven for 15 minutes at 180º, the last 3 minutes on the grill.
